PUC Lakeview is among the top 3% of the best schools in California and PUC Community Charter, in the top 4%, in the prestigious annual ranking.

San Fernando Valley, CA–U.S. News & World Report today named all five high schools in the PUC Schools (PUC) network of schools, among the top in California and the nation, making it the second year in a row that all PUC high schools made the prestigious list. Additionally, PUC Lakeview Charter High stood out as the 35th top high school in the greater Los Angeles area and in the top 3% of schools ranked in California. PUC Community Charter Early College High School was ranked 45th in Los Angeles and was in the top 4% of schools in the state.

PUC Triumph Charter High was placed among the top 15 percent of the best high schools in the state, PUC Early College Academy for Leaders and Scholars made it to the top quartile of the state’s best schools and PUC Cals Middle School and Early College High was in the top half of the best schools in the state.

PUC Schools CEO Concepcion Rivas said the recognition validates the schools’ hard work and unwavering commitment to students, families, staff and the broader communities in helping them build bright futures.

“We are very proud of our students and wholeheartedly celebrate them and our teachers for this accomplishment. Having all of our high schools named among the best in the nation brings our PUC community some much needed joy,” Rivas said. “This honor affirms that PUC has a proven track record of success for sending our students to college and preparing them for successful lives, and we look forward to continuing our work to further the mission and vision of our schools.”

U.S. News & World Report looked at over 24,000 schools in the country and ranked about 17,860 based on five indicators over the 2018–19 school year: college readiness, college curriculum breadth, math and reading proficiency, math and reading performance, and graduation rates. There were 657 schools ranked in the greater Los Angeles area and 2,598 in California.

“As we celebrate these recognitions of our schools, we’re reminded that it takes a dedicated community for this level of success to be possible. I applaud our students, teachers, staff and families for their role in making it possible for PUC to provide a high-quality learning environment for all students,” said Jacqueline Elliot, co-founder of PUC Schools. “We are inspired that we’ve been acknowledged for our work in creating pathways for students to get into and to succeed in college. It means everything that we’re meeting the promise we’ve made to families to change lives and uplift communities.”

PUC Schools is a high-performing network of 14 public charter schools that provide a college preparatory educational program in two densely populated urban communities with low-achieving schools — northeast Los Angeles and northeast San Fernando Valley.
